It can preserve and transfer memories and frequencies in a portable medium. All first-year students must complete the Cassette’s burning and registration under faculty supervision at the Research Institute before venturing beyond the Academy’s protected zones.
Typically, these Cassettes are carried within standardized Spacetrek Terminals referred to as the Frequency Cassette Recorder (FCR). Its casing is constructed from a special composite that mimics the Exostrider’s engineering, granting partial resistance to Void Storms.
In the event a carrier is consumed by a Void Storm, they also serve a similar role to military identification tags — proof of existence.
