First posited by the Court of Savantae researchers, it hypothesizes that a collision between two resonating frequencies—under specific conditions—can unlock an extraordinary surge in Resonance Ability. While the initial experiments with Chronosorters provided glimpses of this potential, their inherent fragility meant they were ultimately unsuitable to sustain such immense power.
At the heart of this phenomenon lies Sentinel Jué, a being whose Temporal Mandate has safeguarded Jinzhou from annihilation for centuries. Severely wounded upon its descent onto Mt. Firmament, Jué’s power could no longer maintain the natural flow of time, instead rewinding or halting it to prevent widespread destruction. The deteriorating stability of Jué’s Temporal Mandate spurred researchers to create artificial Resonance Objects—Chronosorters—to replicate and amplify its abilities.
One experiment, involving the 931st Chronosorter, briefly achieved the restoration of time for 1.29 seconds before succumbing to resonance shock. This fleeting success affirmed the validity of the Second Resonance Awakening theory, but it also highlighted the risks: overclocking—the intense strain on a Resonator or device pushing their abilities beyond their limits—was essential but perilous. However, it did require the approval of the mysterious figure (who is revealed to be Rover) accompanying Jué.
The Second Resonance Awakening marks both a breakthrough and a perilous frontier. For individuals like Jinhsi, it represents hope, sacrifice, and an unyielding resolve to protect her homeland. For the Fractsidus, it is a stepping stone to unimaginable power. As Jinzhou begins to heal, questions linger: Will the awakening process become a tool for salvation or a weapon for domination? And what role will Rover play as these threads of fate intertwine?
Thaw of Eons: Jinhsi's Ascension and the Liberation of Mt. Firmament
To restore time to Mt. Firmament and prevent Jinzhou from collapsing into a temporal standstill, she needed to confront Jué in a direct clash of Resonance. This battle was not only a test of strength but a necessary step to trigger her Second Awakening.
Jinhsi’s decision to face Jué reflected her indomitable spirit and commitment to her people. By pushing herself to the brink of overclocking, she managed to inherit Jué’s Temporal Mandate. The process not only stabilized Mt. Firmament but also solidified her place as Jinzhou’s protector, capable of wielding Resonance on a scale rivaling the Sentinel itself.
While Jinhsi’s success was a beacon of hope, the Fractsidus, a shadowy organization with its own ambitions, viewed her Second Awakening as a template for their pursuits. It is thought that they are trying to engineer an artificial awakening process, bypassing the natural connection between Sentinel and Resonator and they believe they are on the brink of creating Resonators whose power could rival even Jué’s.
The awakening has begun, but its repercussions are far from over.

Daughters of the Fisalia are chosen at a young age to attempt Resonate (by Overclocking) with an artifact left behind by the Sentinel Imperator: a sword called Tyrvine. A sort of proxy-Second Resonance Awakening. However, it would take until Cantarella’s generation until someone would be able to achieve such a feat.
During Cantarella’s Overclocking, she witnessed Cartethyia (at the time Fleurdelys) fighting against the corrupted Imperator. She forewent the power of Awakening, instead chose to wield the power to cleave the newly obtained energy from her and return it back to Imperator, granting the Sentinel to fight back ever so slightly and create the opening required.
That choice would end up empowering Cartethyia, allowing the Blessed Maiden to endure and resist for 20 long years against Leviathan’s mental onslaught. Cartethyia and Rinascita as whole would have succumbed to a more tragic fate if the Fisalia matriarch didn’t place her hope in a new path forward.
