Rover stirs as Mornye pokes them awake.
Buddy: “Chu, Chuuu! Chuuu! Chuuu!”
Mornye: “Okay, little Buddy. I’ll wake him up now.”
Rover: “…Mornye?”
Mornye: “Mentor, you’re awake! Something isn’t right. We seem to have a situation in Bjartr Woods.”
The sounds of the Roya in a frenzy are slowly becoming clearer. Rover rises and goes with Mornye to check on the situation.
Mornye: “I detect signs of a Void Storm in the woods. Waveform… analyzing now.”
Rover: “So this is what’s causing the panic.”
As they arrive closer to the entrance to the woods, they run into some familiar faces and can try to find out more about the situation.
As soon as they finish, they proceed into the Woods, proper. The Shimmer hangs above the terrain. Aksel stands overlooking the scene.
Aksel: “What is it that brings you here? With the Void Storm’s fury upon us, it is no time to enter Bjartr Woods. This is a disaster not seen in centuries. We hav ealways believed the Solistrees’ light protects the woods from such storms. The Rite of Return cannot be done, not in these times. I urge you both to head to safety, quickly!”
Rover: “Another Void Storm…”
Mornye: “Let’s investigate this together.”
Rover and Mornye begin their descent into the Woods. Mornye chimes in, relaying the results of her waveform analysis.
Mornye: “The signature waveform of this Void Storm matches the one that device generated before. This is no naturally occurring phenomenon.”
Rover: “When did you have the chance to analyze this?”
Mornye: “When my prosthetic legs charge, I prefer to keep my mind occupied.”
They soon approach the threshold of the Storm, Soliskin tremble as they reel in shock from the Storm’s presence; more beyond are suffering from corruption. The two Roya Rover spoke to the night before are here as well, just barely avoiding the Storm. Mornye and Rover rush inside to suppress the device and the TDs.
Layla: “Wh-what’s happening… This isn’t right. Help!”
Sander: “Be careful! Don’t get caught in the Void Storm.”
Mornye: “Be careful!”
With the TDs cleared, Mornye continues.
Mornye: “I found the device. It’s closer to the Solistree.”
Rover: “Solistree? I have a bad feeling about this.”
Mornye: “There are so many contaminated Exoswarm here. The Voidmatter concentration is also very high.”
Rover: “Maybe the device Astrid had was incomplete. This could be the real deal.”
