Jiyan, leader of the Midnight Rangers, acts with swift and resolute righteousness. He possesses the formidable ability to conjure a powerful Qingloong from the winds, making him invincible on the battlefield.

A Case of OCD? Or…

Even in peacetime, Jiyan runs a tight ship around the camp. Everything in the camp must be neatly arranged. If you're "fortunate" enough to serve under Jiyan, do remember his strict standards for cleanliness. "I still see dust on window sills, bed frames, and door eaves. Clean them up." "Clears throat Third row, fourth from the left... Adjust your vambrace. It's off-centered." For Jiyan, all this is not a pet peeve per se. It's more of a form of active meditation. "Being tidy is never about cleaning your room once in a while. It's a mindset to practice for life."

Two Gourds?

Jiyan always has two "gourds" hanging from his waist- band. One is a communication terminal in Huanglong, while the other is a gourd-shaped pillcase. Born into a medical family, Jiyan initially served as an army medic before becoming the general who fights a way out for mankind. Carrying the pillbox serves as a reminder for Jiyan of this role. Whenever someone is injured, he always has some- thing in that pill gourd of his for first aid. However, allegedly someone also saw Jiyan handing out candies from this pillcase to kids. Since then, there has been a myth about whether the gourd has an infinite space inside.

Sword? Or Lance?

Lance fighting wasn't exactly Jiyan's strong suit. Like all recruits, Jiyan was trained in the standard swordsmanship of the Midnight Rangers. That changed until a fateful battle... when Jiyan was appointed as the ad hoc leader to lead the Midnight Rang- ers out of a devastating siege. As if to answer his resolu- tion, the winds converged and transformed into the lance now he wields. A lance is considered the king of weapons... Perhaps it was symbolic of the destined mandate of Jiyan to lead. Since then, Jiyan began his diligent lance training. However, Jiyan has never let up on the swordsmanship which he sees as the fundamentals of all combat skills.

Never Forget

The flowers in Knell Square were planted for the fallen. Each time when he returns from a fierce battle, Jiyan plants a new few seeds in Knell Square, tending to seed- lings with care. For Jiyan, it's both habit and duty. Sometimes, people spot him whispering softly to the blooming flowers, or sharing some fresh brews with his shadow in the setting sun, or simply standing in silence... Perhaps, these are the rare moments when he sheds his facade of sternness and seriousness, revealing his soft and gentle side.

Natural leader

Most of the time, Jiyan maintains composure, his gaze resolute and his demeanor stern.

Imposing Qingloong

Following Jiyan's Forte- Awakening, dragon scale-like growths emerged on his left jaw. In battle, Jiyan exhibits swift and decisive movements, wielding a broadblade in one hand and a Qingloong lance in the other, demonstrating his prowess with each strike.
